Management Students Represented NEIU at an International Conference in Denver

Dasha Djukic, Marcy Loor and Dawn Dilday represented Northeastern Illinois University in October at the APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) International Conference and Exposition in Denver. Djukic, Loor and Dilday are student officers of NEIU's APICS Operations Management Club, commonly known as the APICS-AOM Club. The opportunity to travel to Denver came as a result of the club's participation in the Student Case Competition in Downers Grove in February 2007.
Dilday commented, "Without the generosity of the Chicago Chapter and the APICS community, we would not have had this wonderful, six-day learning experience. The NEIU student chapter members feel honored to have been chosen to attend this conference."
The NEIU student chapter of APICS-AOM celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Over the years, the club has sponsored approximately 20 student trips to the Society International Conference. The club has competed in, and won, several Regional Case Study Competitions and placed many students in operations or distribution jobs. The student chapter sponsors about six events each year, including inviting guest speakers to campus, arranging plant tours, and co-supporting several College of Business and Management functions.
